There is a current opportunity for individuals living in the Kootenay Boundary region who identify as First Nations, Metis, or Inuit to share their stories and experiences of accessing both primary care and community based supports to inform a needs assessment around the provision of culturally safe and respectful care. This work is guided by the Kootenay Boundary Aboriginal Services Collaborative among whose members include representation from Sinixt (Arrow Lakes), Syilx, Ktuanxa and Metis Nations, along with support from Kootenay Boundary Divisions of Family Practice, Interior Health and local Indigenous service providers (Circle of Indigenous Nations Society).
